Stars in the Sky: Fourth of July Celebration

Kick off your Independence Day celebration at Newport News’ annual Stars in the Sky event, a beloved waterfront tradition set against the James River.

Enjoy live entertainment, food vendors, and family-friendly activities before the night concludes with a spectacular fireworks display. As Virginia commemorates America’s 250th anniversary, there’s no better place to celebrate than along Newport News’ historic shoreline.

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, select historic attractions in Newport News will offer FREE admission during the month of July. Explore the stories, people, and places that helped shape the nation through immersive exhibits and guided experiences.
